Bihari: An Identity

 Bihari : Why An Obscenity, Not Identity?

Here goes a story about a state which used to be a great cultural and political heritage. A state currently struggling for its lost identity due to lack of infrastructural and socioeconomic development as compared to other Indian states.

Yes here I am talking about a complication less discussed but constantly experienced by us.

The chauvinism of being a BIHAR.

 When we think of Bihar, your brain functions and shows you an image of an uncivilized, uneducated, backward class and criminal minded society setup. Whereas with a very clear voice I proclaim you that Bihar is way ahead of what your mental setup and detrimental opinion. Every Bihari has to accept the social abuse disregarding of his level of education, class of employment and place of residence wherever in the country.

Biharis are unnecessarily criticised to be the main reason of all the problems. And no state has ever done any sort of justice with the deserved treatment to Biharis.

Bihari pride has become a malediction upon the youths engaged in the nation building sectors of the country.
The innumerable number of abuses and discrimination based on evident pattern and feeling of subordination has become a daily dose for any youth present in every corner of this country.

It is not just a particular city or state rather it has been embedded deep down into the mind of my fellow Indians. Biharis deserves such abusive treatment because of the mindset created.

Due to the lack of employment and industries in the state, Biharis are forced to move towards the big cities. Bihar is the greatest exporter of labourers to the other states and due to this sort of migration Biharis are dominant in every sector.
It’s high time that we feel the pain of a common Bihari who is working in any employment sector, studying in any college and doing any kind of work to be treated the way they are, as being a Bihari is there biggest crime on this earth.
We need to recognize the predicament of such prejudicial mindsets as it is turning into ethnocentrism.
It is very easy to say treat others as you want to be treated. But when it comes to reality no commoner would ever tolerate being mocked on terms of their psychology, or state. This has been a constant burden which every Bihari has to incur without any complaints.
  It is beyond imagination what I feels when we are called in a sarcastic tone, he’s Bihari.

Why don’t we remember Biharis by their courage to sell their property to educate their children or by their labour to crack hardest exams in India like UPSC, GATE and IIT, by their sharp minds to become great officers and engineers and last but not the least, by their polite nature?
Categorization of anyone from any part of the country is a threat to solidarity of India.

And despite of every other fact, I want to ask you just one question;
If Gujrat is for Guajrati, Bihar is for Biharis, then India is for whom?
